User Guide / Setting up your business
First-day setup checklist
Work through these steps, in this order, before your first real sale. Each links to its own page.
1. Your business
- Business profile — name, legal name, tax registration number, address, logo, currency and time zone.
- Branches and warehouses — rename Main Branch, and add your other shops and store rooms, each with a short code.
2. Money and tax
- Tax rates — at least VAT 14%, with its ETA category if you'll e-invoice.
- Payment methods — card, bank transfer, mobile wallets. Cash already exists.
- Accounting settings (if your plan includes accounting) — map card and bank methods to Bank Account, and enter opening balances.
3. Documents and printing
- Document settings — the document logo, number prefixes, and what each document shows.
- Printers and labels — how receipts print and what barcode labels look like.
4. People
- Roles — check what Cashier and Accountant can do.
- Users — one per person, each with a role and a home branch.
5. Your catalog
- Categories, brands and units.
- Products — one by one, or from a spreadsheet.
- Stock on hand — opening stock for what's already on your shelves.
6. Contacts
- Customers and suppliers — at least your suppliers and business customers (with their tax numbers). Import a list if you have one.
7. Optional
- ETA e-invoicing.
- Discounts and price lists.
- WooCommerce, if you sell online.
8. A test sale
Open the POS, open the register, sell one item, print the receipt, and check that stock went down. Then return it.
